Billy Porter gave 'light shade' & Nick Jonas had something in his teeth. Here are the best viral moments from the Grammys 2020…

Whether it’s MIA *nailing* a live performance on her due date or Lady Gaga turning up on the red carpet INSIDE AN EGG, the Grammy Awards always bring us no shortage of internet gold – both hilarious and emotional.

The 62nd edition of the Awards, celebrating musical royalty (Lizzo, we’re looking at you) was no different, with incredible outfits galore – and some seriously touching tributes to the late Kobe Bryant.

Here are some of the best bits…

Billy Porter’s lampshade hat

At this point, we only turn up for awards season to see what Billy Porter is going to pull out the bag. Off the back of his amazing Golden Globes effort, he stepped out onto the Grammys red carpet wearing what can only be described as…a lampshade. Complete with mechanical fringe (arguably the most meme-able part of the whole outfit), this custom Scott Studenberg jumpsuit may have edged it as our favourite look he’s done so far.

Nick Jonas showed us his dinner (no, really)

Red carpets can be hungry work, and when you’re in a rush, we imagine it’s pretty stressful chowing down on your favourite meal while slipping into a suit worth a couple thousand dollars. Enter: Nick Jonas. During the Jonas Brothers’ live performance during the show, Nick gave us a little peek at what he’d been eating earlier in the day, with eagle-eyed fans noticing a vegetable mishap. Eek.

Ariana Grande’s on-stage outfit change

With a falsetto to rival most, Ariana Grande is no stranger to performing a power ballad – but what we haven’t seen her do, is nail one of her most powerful songs (Imagine), while doing an outfit change. She slipped out of her huge ballgown into something a little more comfortable (PJs, obvs) to sing 7 Rings at what looked like a pretty epic on-stage sleepover.

There seems to be a certain etiquette when it comes to the red carpet – glamour, glitz, hanging out with some of the richest people in showbiz – a concept that us Brits…can’t quite seem to grasp. Beautifully demonstrated by newcomer Lewis Capaldi, the Scottish Someone You Loved singer rocked up straight after tweeting a photo of himself on the loo, in his jeans, a pair of Vans trainers, and armed with a good old thumbs up. Give him all of the awards.

It’s January. Everyone’s down in the dumps. What do we need to pick us back up? Lizzo. And we’re not just talking about Truth Hurts, because she came up with a bad-ass speech on lifting each other up during her acceptance.

Tyler, The Creator channeling Grand Budapest Hotel

Tyler, The Creator is known for his outrageous takes (both lyrically and creatively) – and what better way for him to make his Grammy’s comeback following the success of now Grammy-winning album Igor, than to turn up as a bell-boy, complete with suitcase? The pink ensemble is giving us big Grand Budapest Hotel vibes…and we kinda dig it.

Camila Cabello’s touching tribute to her Dad (who was sat in the front row)

The perfect opportunity to show off new songs, Camila Cabello used her Grammys performance to serenade the man who inspired her latest tune – her Dad. As he sat in the front row sobbing, Camila held his hand as she debuted First Man, and there were MAJOR FEELS.

The first time we’ve seen her in a while, Demi Lovato brought her comeback to the #Grammys stage, performing ‘Anyone’, before having to restart when the emotions became too much. The song holds a particularly poignant meaning for the singer, as it was written just four days before the near-fatal overdose that changed everything for her. A beautiful performance.
