Billy Connolly adopts adorable rescue dog – and fans think it looks like him

Billy Connolly has adopted an adorable new dog – and fans think they look identical.

The 77-year-old, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2013 and had ­prostate surgery following a cancer ­diagnosis in the same year, was snapped by his wife Pamela Stephenson with his pooch Lincoln as he picked his new pet up.

In a post on Twitter the actress and comedian said: “Billy just adopted a rescue pal!

“The savage beast is called Lincoln.”

Since posting the snap of Billy it has gathered more than 5,500 likes with over 240 retweets on Twitter.

Many of the Big Yin’s fans commented saying Billy looked well in the picture whole others said he looked just like his new dog.
