Billie Eilish has slammed the social media stars who haven’t been taking the coronavirus pandemic seriously.

The Bad Guy singer, 18, took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the influencers and YouTubers who have been ignoring social distancing rules and partying despite the pandemic.

She filmed herself with a filter to enlarge her mouth, saying: ‘Funny how I haven’t hugged my best friends in six months and y’all are out here partying… Funny.’

Billie’s point comes after several famous faces were criticised for holding large parties despite the ongoing spread of the virus, including YouTuber Jake Paul after footage of a party at his mansion in California appeared on social media in July.

While she’s been doing her best to stick to the rules, Billie has been working on her new album, but her brother and producer Finneas has confirmed it won’t be out until she can safely tour again.

He told Australia’s The Herald Sun: ‘I have a desperate desire not to release them during Covid-19. It’s the vaccine record! I want it to be the album everyone’s out dancing in the streets to.

‘Billie and I are full steam ahead on her next record, I’m working on my own album too. I haven’t suffered at all because of my set-up,.

‘Billie and I can work one-on-one, and I’m working remotely with other artists who FaceTime me and ask if I want to work on a song.’

The singer has most recently released My Future in July, after releasing her James Bond theme song No Time To Die earlier in the year.

Speaking about My Future, Billie said in a statement: ‘We wrote this at the very beginning of quarantine. It’s a song that’s really, really personal and special to me.

‘When we wrote this song, it was exactly where my head was at — hopeful, excited and a crazy amount of self-reflection and self-growth.

‘But recently it has also taken on a lot of new meaning in the context of what’s happening in the world now. I hope you can all find meaning in it for yourselves.’
