Billie Eilish is donating part of her fee for an upcoming performance at Music Midtown festival in Atlanta, Georgia to Planned Parenthood Southeast.

The When the Party’s Over singer shared the news on Instagram, while hitting out at Georgia’s abortion laws.

She said on her Instagram Stories: ‘ATLANTA. One of my favorite places in the world, to be in, and play shows. But I do not love the state’s lawmaker’s decision to take away women’s rights.

‘I still cannot believe we are even having this conversation in 2019.

‘I’m dedicating my performance and donating a portion of my guarantee tomorrow to @plannedparenthood.

‘We need this organisation more than ever. Swipe up to learn more and join me to sign the petition, and if you have any spare change, donate.’

Restrictions on women getting abortions in states including Georgia, Louisiana and Alabama, have made global news this year.

On 7 May, Georgia governor Brian Kemp signed a law banning abortion as soon as physicians detect a heartbeat – which can be as early as six weeks, before many women even know they’re pregnant.

Billie, 17, will perform at the festival on 15 September.

The brightest breakout star of 2019 also weighed in on society’s judgement over women’s clothes in a recent interview with Elle.

‘The point is not: Hey, let’s go slut-shame all these girls for not dressing like Billie Eilish,’ she said. ‘It makes me mad. I have to wear a big shirt for you not to feel uncomfortable about my boobs!’

She added: ‘I was born with f***ing boobs, bro. I was born with DNA that was gonna give me big-ass boobs.

‘Someone with smaller boobs could wear a tank top, and I could put on that exact tank top and get slut-shamed because my boobs are big. That is stupid. It’s the same shirt.’

Amen to that Billie!
