Bill Cosby is reportedly seeking early release from prison due to the coronavirus pandemic, despite him ‘feeling fine’.

He was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison back in 2018, after being found guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault.

His lawyers are considering filing a motion asking for him to be placed under house arrest for the remainder of his sentence.

His publicist Andrew Wyatt told Deadline that nothing has yet been filed but they are ‘exploring all legal actions’.

He added: ‘For the record, Mr. Cosby has not been tested for the virus — but is feeling fine — other than being blind and his blood pressure spiking at times.

‘Mr. Cosby’s lawyers are now considering filing a motion asking the court to release Mr. Cosby from prison and place him under house arrest for the duration of his sentence.

‘Specifically, the lawyers are focusing on whether states are granting early release to elderly inmates from prisons due to the Coronavirus — which could be a valid legal argument for Mr. Cosby.’

Cosby is currently serving his sentence at SCI Phoenix in Pennsylvania.

He previously said he will never admit wrongdoing to help him get parole in an interview with National Newspaper Publishers Association’s BlackPressUSA.com.

He said: ‘I have eight years and nine months left. When I come up for parole, they’re not going to hear me say that I have remorse.’

‘I was there. I don’t care what group of people come along and talk about this when they weren’t there. They don’t know.’

Harvey Weinstein, who was recently jailed for rape and sexual assault, is said to have tested positive for coronavirus amid the pandemic.

He’d been holed up in notorious Rikers Island jail, before being moved to Wende Correctional Facility where it’s been claimed two inmates had tested positive.

While Weinstein’s reps previously told Metro.co.uk they ‘had not heard anything like that’, Variety reported that the former producer has been placed in isolation for his safety, along with prison employees who had been in contact with him.

Metro.co.uk has attempted to contact reps for Cosby.
