Risking jumping on a bed of swords, the daring trio shocked and impressed the Britain’s Got Talent judges in equal parts with their first act.
Unfortunately, after sailing through the first round, The Brotherhood was forced to pull out of the semi-final after their act failed to meet health and safety regulations.
The news was broken on Thursday evening by the group of magicians over social media, revealing that they were “truly gutted” to have to withdraw.
Scheduled to perform on Friday night’s semi-final, they have since been replaced by tiny dancers Libby and Charlie.
Though fans of their daredevil stunts were gutted to hear the sad news, the lads gave them a little taste of what they had lined up for the axed performance.
Taking to Instagram, they shared clips of their death-defying act in three parts.
The first showed one of the masked men with their hands in chains, standing against a cage.
Things really heated up in the second video clip, as another of the magicians could be seen locked behind the iron bars.
Suddenly, he was engulfed in flames as the cage lit up in a fiery blaze.
The final shocking clip showed the third member of the trio locked inside a glass box that had been filled to the brim with water.
Shaking his head, he could be seen banging on the glass in panic.
One petrified fan said: “Oh gosh, this is the stuff of nightmares.”
A second added: “Gutted you guys didn’t get to perform.”
And a third remarked: “I wish you all the best for the future, you’ll do amazing, wonderful and crazy things.”
These kind words from their fans likely offered little comfort to the magic act, who reflected on the weight of the blow in their official withdrawal.
They said: “We’ve worked for the last four months on an act so ambitious and out there that we’ve put our sanity, blood, sweat, fire and tears on the line.”
Before adding: “We are truly gutted that we won’t get to be in the fight but we aimed for the stars and fell short.”
Signing off with “see you soon”, fans can only hope that The Brotherhood have more tricks up their sleeve.
