Beyoncé really is feeling the love tonight – she’s just released a new single called Spirit written for Disney’s remake of The Lion King.

Oh, but wait. There’s more.

The megastar also announced that she’s dropping an album she co-produced and curated alongside the film’s release next Friday – which is separate to the film’s soundtrack.

The compilation, titled The Lion King: The Gift, will feature ‘new recordings’ by Queen Bey, including ‘multi-genre symphonies’ and features from global artists, according to a statement.

Spirit, which Bey co-wrote along with IIya Salmanzadeh and Timothy McKenzie, is an original composition that features on her album as well as the movie’s soundtrack.

Speaking about her album, the Run The World singer said in a statement: ‘It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers.

‘Authenticity and heart were important to me.’

Yes Bey, and downloading Spirit and listening to it a thousand times is really important to us.

The track, which was released on Beyonce.com, features the lyrics: ‘Saying rise up to the light in the sky, yeah. Watch the light lift your heart up. Burn your flame through the night.

‘Spirit. Watch the heavens open, yeah. Spirit, can you hear it calling?’

We’re not going to lie, it already sounds like something we’re going to harmonise badly to in the shower. Sorry, neighbours.

Beyoncé, who voices Nala in the Lion King, also sings Can You Feel the Love Tonight? alongside the voice of Simba, Donald Glover.

Meanwhile the film’s soundtrack, produced by Hans Zimmer, features Sir Elton John as well as Pharell Williams, Seth Rogen who voices Pumbaa, his sidekick Billy Eichner as Timon, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, who plays the villainous Scar.

Billy, meanwhile, has been teasing just how good Bey is ahead of the film’s release.

During his appearance on Crooked Media’s Keep It podcast, Billy said: ‘She’s definitely in the movie because I’ve seen a rough cut.

‘And I’ve heard her sing Can You Feel the Love Tonight? with Donald Glover and I’m telling you, it’s f**king good. That was never my favorite song to be totally honest,’ Billy continued.

The Lion King is out 19 July.
