Beyonce says she's dropping new music soon and the Beyhive could not be more ready for our queen's 7th album

These days we are always in the market for good news – and this week, we’ve received some from Queen B herself – Beyoncé Knowles.

It looks like her seventh solo album is on its way, if a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar US is anything to go by.

She confirmed that she’s been in the studio for a year and a half, making the magic happen. “Sometimes it takes a year for me to personally search through thousands of sounds to find just the right kick or snare,” she said, elaborating on her process, as well as how much she enjoys it.

“One chorus can have up to 200 stacked harmonies. Still, there’s nothing like the amount of love, passion, and healing that I feel in the recording studio. After 31 years, it feels just as exciting as it did when I was nine years old. Yes, the music is coming!”

Always so adept at giving us what we need, she stressed the importance of “nurturing the escape” we are all craving from the Covid-19 pandemic and its aftershocks and problems that we are all living with, calling it a “renaissance”.

“With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again,” she said. “I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible.”

Fans have taken to Twitter to share their excitement, as well as to speculate on what will come. Some have predicted a country music-inspired record, while others have started moodboards on what the cover art will look like, as well as Beyoncé’s own looks for the album. In other words, the Beyhive is assembling.

Beyoncé also reflected on turning 40 in her interview with Harper’s Bazaar US, and how much she wants her work to reflect all the boundaries that can be broken, if you want to do so.

“I have paid my dues and followed every rule for decades, so now I can break the rules that need to be broken,” she said. “My wish for the future is to continue to do everything everyone thinks I can’t do.”
