Beyoncé is releasing a documentary based on the companion album she made for Lion King and needless to say, fans are excited.

Described as her ‘love letter to Africa’, The Gift will allow viewers to finally watch the process of her masterpiece.

Queen Bey even wrote, directed and produced the Making The Gift documentary.

And here we thought Homecoming was as much behind-the-scenes magic as we could get.

ABC – which will air the programme – promised viewers will ‘experience the process’ of ‘every track’ from the album.

The 27-track album features contributions from her husband Jay-Z (of course), Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Tierra Whack, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi and more.

In an earlier interview with ABC, Beyoncé, 38, said: ‘I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it.’

The Brown Skin Girl singer said the album was an ‘authentic’ representation of the continent’s sounds mixed with ‘some of the producers from America’.

Meanwhile, fans have been stunned after the singer’s critically-acclaimed Netflix documentary Homecoming was snubbed at the Creative Arts Emmys 2019.

The Hold Up singer was nominated in the variety special (pre-recorded) category but lost out to James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live from Liverpool segment aired on his late night show.

Beyoncé also received nominations in five other categories – outstanding costumes for variety, non-fiction or reality programming, outstanding music direction, outstanding directing for a variety special, outstanding production design for a variety special and outstanding writing for a variety special.

She lost out in all.

Tired of the constant losses, one Beyoncé fan tweeted: ‘Homecoming didn’t win an Emmy. Lemonade didn’t win an Emmy.

‘Lemonade didn’t win AOTY. Whoever is responsible for this repeated burglary of Beyoncé, needs to be caught, reprimanded and taught what art is [sic].’

However, with Making The Gift coming out, this might be the time the singer gets to win.

Making The Gift will air tonight at 10pm ET on ABC.
