Destiny’s Child were reportedly in ‘tentative talks’ about a potential reunion after the coronavirus pandemic, but reps have splashed cold water on fans’ dreams.

Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams were said to have been discussing a potential comeback for the iconic girl group.

A source said: ‘There’s been tentative talks between all three.

‘They’ve always said they would get back together one day when the time is right – and there is no time like the present.’

They added to the Mirror: ‘Nothing has been signed off yet, but as soon as a vaccine is ready and the pandemic is over, watch out for an announcement. It would really lift fans’ spirits.’

However, Beyonce’s rep has told Metro.co.uk that reports are false.

Speculation of a reunion has been rife in recent months, although Kelly has previously said she would want it to b a ‘surprise’ if it does go ahead.

Kelly told Entertainment Tonight: ‘I will say, we have made incredible music in the past, and I don’t know. Can we, like, have surprises in this day and age?’

The Motivation singer continued: ‘I mean, I’m just saying. I just find it so interesting, everybody wants to know in advance.

‘I know every time there is a decision to be made for myself and the ladies to do something, it’s usually a surprise. And our fans have always been so supportive and so awesome, like, I like to give them surprises.’

Meanwhile, Beyonce’s father and former Destiny’s Child manager Matthew Knowles told Metro.co.uk that a reunion would be ‘wonderful’.

He said: ‘I certainly hope they do. It would be wonderful, wouldn’t it? But you know, things like that require years of preparation and timing. Most people don’t know how touring works and how the industry works.

‘It takes years to put together a tour, get the band together, get the dancers together, then decide which size venues you’re going to have, start rehearsals, and it would probably be a world tour… it would be two to three years, even if the answer was yes today.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Beyonce, Kelly, and Michelle for comment.
