Beyonce and Billie Eilish confirmed to perform Best Original Song tracks at the 94th Oscars


Beyonce and Billie Eilish confirmed to perform all of the contenders for Best Original Song at the 94th Oscars with Reba McEntire and Sebastian Yatra

Music fans who may be on the fence about watching the 94th Oscars may change their mind upon learning that two massive stars will be performing: Beyonce and Billie Eilish.

The Academy confirmed on Tuesday that Beyonce and Eilish will perform their Oscar-nominated tracks for Best Original Song.

Also performing on Oscar Sunday will be Reba McEntire and Sebastian Yatra, though the fifth nominee – Van Morrison – will not perform.

Beyonce will perform her song Be Alive from Warner Bros.’ King Richard, which has music and lyrics she co-wrote with DIXSON.

Eilish and her brother Finneas will perform No Time to Die from the new James Bond movie of the same name, which the sibling duo both co-wrote. 

Yatra will perform Dos Oruguitas from Disney’s animated film Encanto, which has music and lyrics from Lin-Manuel Miranda.

McEntire is slated to perform Somehow You Do from the film Four Good Days, which has music and lyrics from 13-time Oscar nominee Diane Warren.

Morrison was nominated for his song Down to Joy from the film Belfast, which he performed and provided the music and lyrics for. 

Morrison will not be performing the song due to his touring schedule, according to ABC.

The singer just announced his new tour on Sunday, which kicks off in Clearwater, Florida on April 20.

McEntire responded to the news of her performance, retweeting The Academy tweet and adding, ‘I’m honored to be performing “Somehow You Do” written by @Diane_Warren at this year’s 94th #Oscars. Tune in Sunday at 8/7c on @ABCNetwork.’

The nomination marks the first for Beyonce, Eilish and Finneas in the Best Original Song category, which is awarded to the songwriters, rather than the performers.

The Original Song artists won’t be the only musicians to perform on Oscar Sunday, with producers Will Packer and Shayla Cowan announcing a number of special performers last week.

The telecast will feature a special band comprised of musical director Adam Blackstone, Travis Scott, Blink-182 drummer Travis Scott, legendary drummer Sheila E and pianist Robert Glasper, via THR.

It was also announced that The Samples will perform during the telecast, while DJ D-Nice will appear on the telecast and perform during the Governors Ball.
