In the opening scenes, Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) called him for help after a taxi driver busted his current alias Gene.

After being approached in the mall by the driver and made to utter his famous catchphrase “Better Call Saul”, he rang up Best Quality Vacuums and requested an adapter for a Hoover Max Extract Pressure Pro Model 60.

The black-and-white scene ended with Jimmy changing his mind and deciding to fix his problem without Ed’s help.

This is the last time the character will appear in the wider Breaking Bad universe as actor Robert passed away last year from a brain tumour.

Show creator Peter Gould paid tribute to the late actor, telling Entertainment Weekly: “Robert Forster is just one – was; it’s hard for me to talk about him in the past tense – he was one of the great, generous, fun, down-to-earthy people and also a brilliant actor.

“Just a great guy, somebody you want to be around as much as you can.”

The episode was dedicated to Robert’s memory.

The actor was known for roles in Jackie Brown, Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks.

His final scenes will be in horror movie The Werewolf and TV series Amazing Stories by Steven Speilberg – both set to air this year.

Bryan Cranston – who plays Walter White in Breaking Bad – paid tribute to the actor after his death, saying: “I’m saddened by the news that Robert Forster has passed away.

“A lovely man and a consummate actor. I met him on the movie Alligator 40 years ago, and then again on BB.

“I never forgot how kind and generous he was to a young kid just starting out in Hollywood. RIP Bob.”
