The best way to beat jet lag is to knock back a few glasses of red, the boss of British Airways owner believes.

Willie Walsh, CEO of British Airways owner IAG, flies all over the world many weeks of the year – and said drinking red wine is the thing that helps him the most.

The aviation boss, a former pilot, told The Sun: “A couple of glasses helps you to sleep. Red wine is the cure for everything!”

He also says that a doctor once told him to drink more red every day – and he cheekily asked for a prescription for half a bottle.

Common tips for reducing jet lega disorder caused by travelling across multiple time zones by air – include staying hydrated and taking melatonin, a hormonal remedy that regulates the sleep cycle.
