AFTER finishing the gruelling 26.2 miles of a marathon, you deserve a good meal and a refreshing drink on the house.

Luckily, there’s a wide range of freebies up for grabs for all runners in London tomorrow – April 28.

From free transport to the start, to free food and drinks, you’ll be able to celebrate crossing the finish line with a whole host of free stuff.

We’ve made a round-up of all the freebies you can enjoy below.

All you need to do is flash your London marathon medal afterwards or show your race number beforehand.

Food

If you like Asian food, you may want to pop by any Busaba Eathai branch in the UK after the run.

The chain is giving runners one main meal for free – and you can choose from a pad Thai, wok noodles, curries, char-grills, soups, salads, stir-fries or rice bowls.

The offer is valid both Sunday April 28 and Monday April 29.

Franco Manca – free pizza

Or if Italian food is your kind of treat, Franco Manca is giving away free pizzas to anyone who completes the marathon.

The offer is valid from Sunday April 28 to Monday April 29 – just show your medal for a free post-run sourdough reward.

If you’re looking to carb-load ahead of the race on Sunday, Leon is offering runners a free “Little Box” (usually £3.95-£5.95) on April 26 or April 27 in any London branch.

You can choose from Sicilian chicken meatballs, Brazilian black beans, lentil masala, Caribbean plantain curry, or Kay’s home-style Thai curry.

You can get this freebie from 11am till close while stocks last – just show your official race number.

Maxwell’s – free burger and fries

If you visit Maxwell’s at Covent Garden in London and show your medal you can get a free burger and fries when you dine in on Sunday.

You can choose between meat and vegan options costing between £11.95 and £14.95.

Volunteers will also get 25 per cent off, the restaurant told The Sun.

Complete this year’s London Marathon and take your medal to any MEATliquor in London on Sunday to get a free burger.

You can choose from meat, vegetarian, or vegan options – usually setting you back between £7.50 and £9.75.

If you’re an official volunteer, you’ll get a free burger too by showing your steward badge.

Fries, sides and drinks aren’t included – these cost from £2.

Real Greek – free meal

Greek food fans can get a free “Greek Plate” (usually £8.50) at any Real Greek restaurant when you dine in.

The offer’s available from April 28 until May 3 and you don’t have to buy anything to claim your freebie – just simply show your medal.

You can choose between chicken skewer, halloumi skewer, loukaniko (beef and pork sausage), falafel or lamb kefte, and it’ll be served with saffron rice, Greek salad, tzatziki, and a Greek flatbread.

If Asian cuisine really is your favourite, you may want to head to Royal China after the marathon.

The restaurant chain is giving any runners one free dish from any dim sum menu when dining in the Baker Street, Fulham, Harrow-on-the-Hill or Canary Wharf restaurants on Sunday.

The Carpenters Arms – free pie and mash

If you want to get hearty meal a few days after the marathon, you can get free pie and mash at The Carpenters Arms in London on Tuesday April 30 or Wednesday May 1, according to MoneySavingExpert.

The Pieminister pie and mash also comes with peas and gravy – it’ll usually set you back £9.50.

All you need to do to get the free meal is show your medal.

The Market Porter – free burger

Runners who complete the marathon on Sunday and turn up to The Market Porter in London Bridge can also get one of their burgers for free.

The offer is valid on Sunday April 28 and Monday April 29.

Drinks

All Bar One – free glass of Moet Champagne

Those wanting to celebrate with a glass of fancy fizz after finishing the marathon should instead head to All Bar One.

This is because runners who download the All Bar One app (or you’re an existing user) can get a voucher for a free 125ml glass of Moet Champagne.

Simply show the voucher in the app along with your London Marathon medal at any All Bar One in London on Sunday to get it.

Crussh – free smoothie

Or if you’re after something non-alcoholic, you can get any free medium smoothie (usually £4.50-£4.80) at Crussh for free, according to MoneySavingExpert.

You don’t need a voucher, just flash your medal in store on Sunday – you can find your nearest one here.

Hippo Inns – free drink

In good news for runners, there are also a wide range of free drinks up for grabs at pubs around London.

If you take your medal to any of the 12 Hippo Inns pubs in London, you can get a free pint of house beer, house wine, house spirit or soft drink.

The offer is available on Sunday only – you can find your nearest Hippo Inns pub here.

Nicholson’s – free beverage

Or pop to one of 42 Nicholson’s pubs in London for that well-deserved post-marathon celebratory beverage and show your medal to get a free drink.

You can choose from a pint of Nicholson’s pale ale, a 25ml Tanqueray gin & tonic, or draught soft drink.

Unfortunately, you can only get one free drink each.

Three Cheers – free drink

You can also quench your thirst with a free drink at any of the nine Three Cheers pubs in London.

The offer’s available between 12pm and 11pm on Sunday– just show your medal at the bar.

You can get either one free pint of beer, a 175ml glass of house red or white wine, a 125ml glass of prosecco, a house spirit and mixer, or a soft drink.

The Three Cheers pubs taking part in the offer are:

  • The Abbeville in Clapham
  • The Avalon in Clapham
  • The Bolingbroke in Battersea
  • The Latchmere in Battersea
  • The Princess Victoria in Shepherd’s Bush
  • The Rosendale in West Dulwich

Transport

Getting to the London Marathon can be tricky as thousands of runners travel at the same time, but one  bonus of being a runner is that you can get free public transport on most services within London and on some services to and from the capital on race day.

Here’s a list of services giving marathon runners (but not spectators) free travel on April 28.

You don’t need to get a ticket, just show your race number to staff.

  • Transport for London (TFL): Runners can travel for free on the TFL network on Sunday. Just show your race number of ID to get free travel on the tube, buses, Overground, DLR and tram networks
  • Southeastern: Runners get free travel from London Bridge, Cannon Street, Charing Cross, Waterloo East and Victoria to either Greenwich, Maze Hill or Blackheath
  • c2c: Runners get free travel between Essex and London
  • Chiltern Railways: Runners get free travel on Chiltern Railways
  • Oxford Bus Company: If you live in Oxford, you’ll be pleased to know that runners travel free on the X90 coach service between Oxford and London on the day
