The second series of Best Home Cook has come to an end, and the winner of the show was announced to be Suzie Arbuthnot.

The all-female final was hard fought, but Suzie’s impressive three-course dinner stunned the judges and got her crowned the champion over fellow finalists Sarah Woods and Georgia Salamat.

After Mary Berry announced her win, Suzie said: ‘Thank you so much for this experience. Oh my goodness.’

Mary added: ‘We are there to choose the best home cook, and we have loved every minute. And I think we’ve come to the right conclusion’.

Suzie said in her VT: ‘So, so happy right now. A dream come true. I never thought this was even possible.

‘I just know my family and my mum would be so proud of me right now.’

She added: ‘Let’s have a drink. I don’t really drink but I think tonight is drinking.’

‘The amount of support, encouragement and compliments I have received both locally and nationally has been humbling and has given me so much self-belief and confidence in who I am.

‘Being in the pressure cooker of the Best Home Cook kitchen and experiencing the highs and lows with the other contestants has left me with some unforgettable memories and some new amazing friendships.’

Best Home Cook came to an end on Thursday, but fans are already clamouring for a third series of the show.

The cookery competition, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, saw home cooks being challenged to create a variety of dishes to impress the judges, one of which being none other than Mary Berry herself.

The series started with 10 passionate cooks taking on two challenges per episode to impress judges Mary, Angela Hartnett and Chris Bavin.

The contestants were whittled down to the final three, consisting of Sarah, Georgia and Suzie, who all battled it out to be crowned champion of series two.

It’s not yet known whether the show will return for a third series – with the BBC telling metro.co.uk that nothing has yet been confirmed.
