FOR people who love to travel, the most obvious gifts are perhaps new gadgets such as cameras or noise cancelling headphones.

But in fact, it can be just as easy to gift your friends or family a holiday and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

You can buy package holidays for less than £100 per person through companies such as Groupon and Wowcher.

Both of these also give you the option of buying the breaks as gifts, so you can pay for a loved one to enjoy a getaway.

As an alternative, companies like Lastminute.com will also give you the option to buy gift cards that can then be used to book holidays at a later date.

If you’re not sure where to start, we’ve found some of the best travel deals that you could buy as a gift:

Holidays under £100 per person

Groupon has launched its Black Friday sale and right now you can get 15 per cent of hotels and travel, which means now is probably the cheapest time for snapping up a deal.

We found lots of European getaways for under £100pp – just bear in mind that you’d have to buy two vouchers as the price is based on two people sharing.

Indian royal family has listed their PALACE on Airbnb and you can stay in a lavish suite with its own private pool

You can buy a two-night break to Budapest, with four-star hotel stay, breakfast and flights included, from £69pp.

Or there’s a break to Krakow for two nights from £89pp, which includes five-star hotel stay and return flights.

Rival Wowcher has some great deals as well, including its popular £99 mystery holiday deal.

For some extra pampering, you can treat a loved one to a two-night spa holiday to Malta from just £69pp, including four star hotel stay, hydrotherapy treatment and flights.

There’s even a dual-centre break, to Rome and Venice, where you can visit both cities over four nights for £129pp, and the price includes flights, hotel and train transfers.

Make sure your holidays are protected

If you’re buying a holiday as a gift, make sure it’s protected.

For package holidays, check whether or not they’re ABTA or ATOL protected so if there are any issues with the trip, you might be able to get compensation or your money back.

Using a credit card to book can also help in the event that a travel firm goes bust.

Experiences under £100 per person

There are some great experiences and staycation options in the UK as well.

For a quirky staycation, you can buy a Murder Mystery getaway from Wowcher with overnight stay, three-course dinner and breakfast from £55pp.
