‘Occasionally, it’s been tough, it’s been really tough for family reasons and for personal reasons.’

While he is now Covid-free, the illness wreaked havoc on his body – and he is still in hospital to this day.

‘There seems to be a general feeling this year that we need Christmas and New Year more than ever,’ she told Woman & Home magazine.

‘We need things to feel like they’re moving forward because it’s been such a strange and tough year.

‘All the things we love about Christmas – family, loved ones, indulgence and getting together – having been restricted for so long, it makes it even more precious this year.’
