Behind the scenes of Man City's FA Cup celebrations as kit man strips in triumph

Manchester City’s FA Cup celebrations have scaled to new heights and been quite literally laid bare – thanks to the kit man.

Brandon Ashton achieved notoriety following the release of Man City’s ‘All or Nothing’ Amazon documentary last year.

Lauded as a joker by several members of the playing staff, Ashton lived up to his billing following City’s 6-0 FA Cup final win over Watford .

Normally tasked with ensuring everyone has the correct kit on, Ashton stripped down to his underwear whilst on board the plane, as City prepared to disembark London for Manchester.

Man City players Ederson and Leroy Sane then pushed Ashton down the central aisle on the refreshments trolley, as the kit man held the trophy aloft.

The City squad could be seen cheering Ashton on in a video posted to Instagram by Bernardo Silva.

It followed scenes in the aftermath of their Wembley win where Ashton excitedly skipped round the changing room in just his briefs.

He then jumped on the back of midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, before spraying champagne and sliding belly first across the dressing room floor.

It was much to the delight of the City players – including Raheem Sterling – who had egged on their colleague.

He had also jumped into a cart containing kit, before being dumped out onto the floor, as well as swinging socks around his head in delight at the win.

City and Ashton had plenty to celebrate by all accounts, with the club having completed an impressive domestic treble following their emphatic victory over the Hornets.

Goals from David Silva, Gabriel Jesus (2), Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling (2) blew Watford away and ensured they added the trophy to their Premier League and League Cup wins this season.

City captain Vincent Kompany once said of Ashton on the behind-the-scenes documentary: “Brandon is kind of the heart and soul of the dressing room really.

“He has this ability to take pressure off.”

That was after he had already mounted Ilkay Gundogan for a piggy-back

Since the cup final win, Kompany has announced he will be leaving City to take up a player-manager role at former club Anderlecht.

Kompany said: “As overwhelming as it is, the time has come for me to go. And what a season to bow out. I feel nothing but gratefulness.

“I’m grateful to all those who supported me on a special journey, at a very special club.”
