And Brit James Corden looked every inch the star as he hit the red carpet with his wife at the 2019 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday in LA.

His wife, TV producer Julia Carey, stunned in a delightful floor-length floral dress cinched midway down the arms as she let her luscious blonde locks flow.

Since making the move stateside, London-born James has been a huge hit and now presents The Late Late Show with James Corden.

One of the show’s segments, of which he is an executive producer, was hailed at the glitzy ceremony.

‘Carpool Karaoke: The Series’ was recognised as the outstanding short form variety series.

After receiving the award alongside his team, Corden was pictured beaming as he clutched the coveted gongs.

The segment, based on the original from The Late Late Show, was also recognised for outstanding technical direction, camerawork, and video control for a special.

Fellow late-night TV host Bill Maher ruffled Corden’s feathers last week when the 63-year-old made a series of crude remarks towards overweight people during his monologue on his HBO show Real Time with Bill Maher.

‘We’re not all as lucky as Bill Maher. We don’t all have a sense of superiority that burns 35,000 calories a day,’ joked Corden on his program The Late Late Show in response.

Maher did a segment this week about how obesity is killing Americans more than anything else.

‘In August, 53 Americans died from mass shootings,’ said Maher. ‘Terrible right? Do you know how many died from obesity? Forty thousand. Fat shaming doesn’t need to end it needs to make a comeback.

‘Some amount of shame is good. We shamed people out of smoking and into wearing seat belts. We shamed them out of littering and most of them out of racism. Shame is the first step in reform.’
