BBC Strictly Come Dancing SLAMMED for 'worst ever line-up'

BBC bosses have come under fire for revealing an underwhelming roster of so-called celebrities for the smash hit show’s return next month.

Yesterday, Michelle Visage – who stars in American reality TV show RuPaul’s Drag Race – was revealed as the latest signing.

The 50-year-old former pop star is a gay icon and previously appeared in Celebrity Big Brother.

She joins Paralympic table tennis championWill Bayley, 31; Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing, 30; chef Emma Thynn, 33; children’s TV presenter Karim Zeroual, 19; Breakfast TV sports reporter Mike Bushell, 53; ex-Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley, 35; ex-EastEnders actress Emma Barton, 42; former footballer David James, 49; comedian Chris Ramsey, 33; and YouTube sensation Saffron Barker, 19.

Four further names are set to be announced in the coming days but the lacklustre cast so far has left many viewers of the Saturday night BBC One show cold.

On Twitter, one fan said: “Have they run out of famous people willing to do the show?” Henry Molyneux tweeted: “Now is the time to get rid of your TV. No wonder [former judge] Darcey [Bussell] turned it in – BBC have sunk to the lowest level.”

And Bea Smith added: “Have they run out of actual top celebs. I don’t know most and have no interest in them.”

The BBC declined to comment on this year’s line-up.
