BBC Radio 2 star Jo Whiley's phone snatched in street in 'horrible' ordeal 'Be on guard'

Jo Whiley, 55, took to Twitter and warned her followers to “be on your guard”, as she shared her “horrible experience”. The BBC Radio 2 presenter revealed the incident took place near Euston Station on Monday.

Speaking out online the following day, the DJ shared details of the theft.

In view of her 328,000 followers, Jo wrote: “I was walking from Euston Station in London to work yesterday afternoon – stood waiting to cross the road & texting my producer, when a kid on a bike snatched my phone from my hand.

“Gone in seconds. Lesson learned.”

The Northampton-born BBC star believes others may have fallen foul of thieves around the central London train station.

In a follow up tweet, Jo tweeted: “It seems to be a common occurrence in that area so just be on your guard. I certainly will be from now on. It’s a pretty horrible experience.

“To friends & colleagues – best way to contact me for the foreseeable is by Dms here or on Instagram.”

Jo added: “Sorry to use Twitter for this but I’m still without a phone & receiving no texts or emails. It’s kind of blissful but also not.

“Anyone who needs to contact me please DM me here or on Instagram.”
