BBC presenter announced as host of Women's Enterprise Scotland Awards



Veteran BBC Radio presenter Clare English will host the Women’s Enterprise Scotland Awards being held in partnership with Scottish Business Insider.

English, who has presented on Radio Four as well as Radio Scotland, regularly leads public discussions and hosts events across a diverse range of topics.

 

Most recently she hosted Tedx Glasgow and coached speakers.

She says are passions are sharing her communications and presentation skills to support education, confidence, mental health and wellbeing.

With nearly 30 years experience of BBC journalism and presentation, English has covered a wide range of specialist areas including politics, Europe and identity, news and current affairs, mental health, arts, culture, science/technology and food.

 

English is a non-executive board member of Women’s Enterprise Scotland.

The already announced keynote speaker for the event is trailblazing retail entrepreneur Wendy Hallett.

She will speak from her experience of 13 years working with retail group Arcadia and founding her own business Hallett Retail Services 20 years ago to offer a unique concept, pulling fashion, accessory and jewellery brands together under one concession umbrella.

 

The glittering awards dinner and ceremony takes place on Wednesday 18 September at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow.

Ten awards will be presented on the evening. They are the Start Up Award, Best Rural Based Business, Growth Business, Invested Business, Innovator of the Year, Board Member, Best Social Enterprise and Business Leader, Emerging Business Leader and Business of the Year.
