BBC news presenter Harry Gration has welcomed his sixth child into the world with his wife Helen.

The 68-year-old already shares 16-year-old twin boys Harvey and Harrison with his other half, and has a further three children from his previous marriages.

And after travelling to Cyprus where they underwent IVF treatment, the loved up couple have successfully added to their brood with baby Hamilton.

BBC Look North announced the sweet news, saying that the tot, who weighs six pounds and three ounces, was born at 10.40 this morning.

Earlier this year, the proud dad addressed the pregnancy over on his Twitter account.

He told his followers: ‘I do appreciate your kind comments. In truth it is my wife and twin boys who are the ones to admire in all this

He recently said he felt shell shocked (Picture: PA)

‘They give me the strength to challenge those who say I am mad! And I can change a nappy at 68! Regards.’

Back in January 2018, the pair started to look for an egg donor after Helen was told her’s would be ‘too old and viable’.

The mother-of-three then headed to Spain for the procedure as under British law the 51-year-old is deemed ‘too old’ to receive the treatment.

However, the parents were delighted after a 12-week-scan revealed the baby was healthy.

Harry told The Yorkshire Post at the time: ‘I’m still a bit in shell shock at the moment. My colleagues have been really supportive since we announced the news.

‘You do get some people on social media who have negative things to say but I am taking it all on the chin.’

Metro.co.uk have reached out to Harry’s reps for further comment.
