BBC News: ‘Come back!’ Louise Minchin left flustered by technical blunder

BBC Breakfast was being presented by Dan Walker and Louise Minchin this morning and everything appeared to be going smoothly.

However, one segment left the pair rather flustered as they were interrupted by a technical blunder.

Louise was about to present a segment on the menopause when all of a sudden anoth clip started to play over her.

She began: “It’s 21 minutes past seven. This week on Breakfast you’ve probably noticed we’ve been talking about menopause.”

“Today, we’re focusing specifically on how attitudes are changing in workplaces.”

But before the presenter could continue, the live feed cut to a random image of somebody’s head and ear, leaving Louise rather flustered.

She could be heard calling out: “Um. Hello? Hello? Come back.”

Eventually, Louise and Dan could be seen on screen again and there was no explanation for the unexpected blunder.

Dan looked rather puzzled and could be heard saying: “Hmm,” as he tried to work out what had happed.

“I don’t know what that was,” he simply stated.

Louise added: “I don’t know happened there,” before trying to get things back on track.

Earlier this week, Louise scolded Dan for using his phone live on air.

The moment came when BBC sports presenter Holly Hamilton was finishing up her sports segment which she was presenting live from the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

The camera ended up cutting away from Holly and back to the studio where Dan was on his phone and Louise got slightly irritated with her co-host for his behaviour.

“Put it down,” said Louise laughing nervously before going on to thank Holly.

However, the sports reporter hadn’t quite finished her segment yet, and the two started to talk over one another.

“So, all in all, it’s been a pretty weekend…” began Holly, while Louise said: “Thank you, Holly…”

Holly then abruptly stopped once she reapplied the mistake, and Louise apologised for cutting her off.

“Holly, I didn’t mean to interrupt you,” began Louise. “Thank you very much.

“We’ll be back with you with a lovely sea of blue a little bit later.”

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
