Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in beating Manchester United and Chelsea to the signature of Gareth Bale this summer.

The Welshman looks likely to leave Real Madrid after the return of manager Zinedine Zidane, with whom Bale does not have a great relationship.

Real are also expected to go on a huge spending spree, with the likes of Eden Hazard, Neymar and Christian Eriksen all linked to the La Liga giants.

Bale could be forced out by the new arrivals and TeamTalk are reporting that Bayern Munich are looking to capitalise on the situation.

Bayern have been in discussions with Real over the future of on-loan star James Rodriguez and were reportedly made aware of Bale’s availability during these conversations.

The Bavarians are not interested in extending the Colombian’s loan deal, but it does not look like Real want him back either so he is set to find pastures new this summer.

The German side will need to replace him, though, and they see Bale as an ideal candidate to do so.

The Welshman has also been linked with moves to Manchester United and Chelsea, while an unlikely return to Tottenham has also been mooted.

The 29-year-old had a distant relationship with Zidane in the Frenchman’s first spell in charge at the Santiago Bernabeu, although Bale did start the first game of his second stint in the dugout, scoring in the 2-0 win over Celta Vigo.

Ahead of that game Zidane had said: ‘I’m not going to talk about Bale’s season, what I’m going to talk about is what we have ahead: 11 games.

‘You know what kind of player Gareth is so I’m going to count on him, as well as with the others.’
