Bayern Munich have made a fresh bid for Chelsea wonderkid Callum Hudson-Odoi, despite the 18-year-old being currently sidelined through injury.

The German giants were close to landing the England international, whose contract expires at the end of this coming season, in January with Hudson-Odoi handing in a transfer request in an attempt to force through a deal.

Chelsea refused to let him leave and the youngster impressed in the second half of the season, helping Chelsea on their way to a top-four finish and winning the Europa League.

With Eden Hazard leaving the club and Chelsea facing a transfer ban, Hudson-Odoi is set to find opportunities more easy to come by as he looks to establish himself in the Premier League.

Blues officials are confident he will sign a new deal but Bayern launched a £22.4million bid, even though he is recovering from an Achilles injury and is unable to play until September, according to the Daily Mail.

However, Chelsea flatly rejected the bid and have put a five-year contract on the table – something they hope he will sign once club legend Frank Lampard is appointed as manager.

Bayern remain confident they can sign him and still believe he wants to join them.

Chelsea will hope that is not the case and instead that they can tie him down for years to come.
