Barcelona team news: Predicted 4-3-3 line-up vs Vissel Kobe – Griezmann in but no Messi

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde will be looking for an improvement from their pre-season opener defeat to Chelsea when his side take on Vissel Kobe on Saturday.

There will be some recognisable face in the opposition line-up with Andres Iniesta and David Villa ready to face their former club.

The Japanese side, who are playing the friendly in the middle of their season, are coming into the clash on a three-game losing streak and currently find themselves just three points clear of the relegation zone in the J-League.

Barcelona will be without several stars as Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have been given extended leave following their involvement in the Copa America.

The Catalan giants will also be without central defender Gerard Pique, as the 32-year-old is recovering from a minor adductor injury in his left leg.

The Injury to Pique is expected to see Samuel Umtiti join his compatriot Clement Lenglet in an all French centre-back pairing.

They will be ahead of Marc-Andre ter Stegen in goal, with Nelson Semedo and Jordi Alba on the flanks.

Sergio Busquets is expected to play alongside new signing De Jong and veteran Ivan Rakitic.

And Iniesta recently backed the Croatian midfielder to stay at the Nou Camp, despite reports linking him with a move away.

“I don’t know if he is untransferable, but I know he is happy and wants to stay at Barca,” Iniesta said.

“I hope he can [stay at the club] and continue to perform as before. I would be happy for him.”

Barca’s attack is expected to be led by Griezmann, with Malcom and Ousmane Dembele taking up positions on the wings.
