Barbara Windsor's husband shares pictures of her watching Carry On films amid dementia battle

Barbara Windsor’s husband has shared that she spent some of her Christmas Day watching one of her old Carry On films.

Scott Mitchell posted a picture of the actress, 82, posing in front of their TV which was playing a younger version of herself in one of the iconic films.

Barbara looked happy as she stuck her hands in the air and beamed for the camera in the sweet photo.

In another snap she posed smiling with her hands on her hips in front of the same scene, while in the final image she posed next to her late co-star Kenneth Williams.

Scott, 56, also shared a photo of the two of them as they put their heads together and smiled.

Barbara was diagnosed with degenerative condition Alzheimer’s in 2014.

The Carry On films were some of her most memorable roles and she starred in ten in total.

Last month Scott admitted that sometimes Barbara doesn’t recognise him and asks where her husband is.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, he said: “It hits her at certain times, the confusion; we get repetitive questions not knowing where the house is now.

“She can look at me straight in the eye and say, ‘Do you know where my husband Scott is?’

“Each time it happens it’s like a body blow. She realises it and she’s upset that it happens.”

He added: “She’s still got that sense of fun within her. She loves to make me laugh and I make her laugh.

“She’s got that sparkle but the confusion is unsettling for her.”
