Baked oats are the new viral food trend from TikTok – here are the mouthwatering recipes you need to try

TikTok has proven to be a gold mine for innovative food trends. First it changed the way we fold wraps forever, then it introduced us to baked feta pasta and now users are salivating over its new, sweeter trend: baked oats.

While baked oats are hardly a new invention, TikTok users have been testing out creative versions of the healthy meal.

At its core, baked oats consist of oats (regular or blended to make oat flour) which is combined with mashed banana, milk and sprinkled with your choice of toppings. Once baked, it comes out as a cake-like consistency. (Cake for breakfast? We’re sold already.)

It’s a healthy breakfast option too as oats are packed with fiber and protein, while a mashed banana gives the addition of natural sugars (plus one of your five a day).

Below, we list some of our favourite variations of the recipe that we’ve seen on TikTok.
