Noel Fielding has come back with the zingers in the return to Bake Off tonight, savaging Paul Hollywood in the opening scenes.

In the first minutes of the 10th series, Mighty Boosh comedian Noel and chef Paul were larking about dressed as characters from the Wizard Of Oz.

As Noel, dressed as main character Dorothy, pranced on over to Tinman Paul, in his red, glitter boots, Paul quipped: ‘I don’t have a heart.’

Slightly awkward seeing as Paul is currently in a legal battle following his split with Summer Monteys-Fullam, with his ex-girlfriend suing her former partner after claims he ‘made her sign a non-disclosure agreement’.

Not leaving it be – or having it edited out amid his personal drama – Noel hilariously quipped: ‘Yeah, that’s not going to come as a shock to people.’

Later on down the scene, Sandi Toksvig joined the bunch and kicked in the boot by adding it wasn’t a dream they were in the Wizard Of Oz scene: ‘I don’t think it was a dream, Paul still doesn’t have a heart.’

Ouch!

To be fair, Paul is known as a tough judge on the Channel 4 baking show – a Hollywood Handshake a rare occurrence and comes with great pride.

But that didn’t stop viewers from having a giggle at the tongue-in-cheek moment as they prepared to welcome the 2019 class of bakers to the famous tent.

Tonight we see 13 fresh bakers try their hand with judges Paul and Prue Leith joining Noel and Sandi as the kitchen gets heated.

From the first challenge involving a delicious fruit cake to the upcoming showstopper, seems we’re already hooked and we’re not even one episode in!

Great British Bake Off returns 8pm Tuesday on Channel 4.
