Lottie, 31, was one of the hot favourites to win this year’s series of The Great British Bake Off when it began back in September. The contestant proved herself to be a strong contender for the crown during the first six weeks, however, an unfortunate ice-cream showstopper led to her shock exit from the tent. Clearly overcome with emotion, the amateur baker was seen in floods of tears as she spoke to the camera for the final time on the Channel 4 show.
It had been a tough episode, with the remaining six bakers having to take on three challenges based around trends from the 1980s.
This included a quiche inspired signature, a finger custard doughnut technical task and a showstopper composed of ice cream.
With filming taking place on one of the hottest days of the year, several contestants struggled to balance the temperatures.
Lottie was one of them along with Laura Adlington, 31, as both of their creations melted by the time the judges got to taste them.
It was a hard decision for Paul Hollywood, 54, and Prue Leith, 80, to make on who should leave, but they ultimately chose to send Lottie packing.

The contestant said it was “a massive relief” to have left the tent, but she was “gutted” she wasn’t going to be with her fellow co-stars every day.
Lottie then explained she thought she would never have made it to week seven as she wiped away tears with a tissue.
“I literally packed two outfits and I’m here wearing everyone else’s clothes,” she remarked light-heartedly.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote of the result: “I am absolutely devastated! Lottie was such a wonderful person to watch. I’ll be so gutted to not see her next week #GBBO.”
Speaking to Channel 4 after her exit from the tent, Lottie said she always knew the ice cream challenge was going to be tricky.
“Basically I changed the design of my Showstopper the day before, I wanted it to be an ’80s cassette tape.
“I decided to make soft-serve ice cream to go round the outside, but it just totally melted. By the time it came to judging it looked awful and I was absolutely mortified.
“I looked at it and thought really I could have come up with something cleverer than that,” the former star baker explained.
Taking the title from the now eliminated contestant was Hermine, 39, who impressed the judges with all of her creations.
Viewers were over-the-moon she had finally been given recognition, having been the only one out of the remaining bakers never to have received the accolade.
One wrote on Twitter: “Hermine’s son saying he’s proud of his Mom! Just beautiful #GBBO,” with another adding: “Hermine to win #GBBO.”
“So glad Hermine finally got the recognition she deserves. Love her!! Hermine for the win. #GBBO,” a third remarked.
The Great British Bake Off airs Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
