Parenting coach Carrie Bruno swears by tucking your newborn’s arm underneath your armpit when cradling them

Parenting coach Carrie Bruno shares her tips and advice when it comes to little ones online, with her latest Instagram post tackling “fussy newborns”.

The video revealed a simple technique mums can try with their newborns when cradling them in their arms in a bid to try and soothe them and stop them for crying.

Before you start bouncing around with your baby, Carrie advises simply tucking their arm underneath your armpit and holding them close to your belly.

Sounds simple enough, but she claims that one move will get your newborn to settle almost immediately.

Sharing a video demonstrating the technique, she says: “Feel like you’ve tried everything and you can’t get them to calm?

“Try the newborn ‘hug’. Tuck your newborn’s arm around you and hold them belly to belly.

“If you have a soother, help keep it in using your chest. And bounce. If you have an exercise ball, try it! The fluid motion is so calming.”

Thousands liked her post, with many fellow mums commenting and revealing they too had tried the trick and it worked for them and their baby.

“I did this with all my kiddos I didn’t have Instagram for my first so it was trial and error! This ALWAYS worked!” commented one mum.

Another posted: “Yup!! worked then 7 months later & it still works now!”

A third wrote: “My 4 month old is addicted to that technique.”

Not surprisingly, other mums were keen to try it out for themselves, with one person commenting: “Thanks I’m going to try this when he gets fussy.”

Another added: “I will definitely try this! Thank you!”
