Awww, Reese! Here's why she turned down an offer to return to Friends…

Reese Witherspoon has notched up a number of notable roles from June Cash in Walk The Line to Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. But we all still have a soft spot for when she starred as Jill Green in Friends as the sister to Jennifer Aniston’s Rachel.

The cameo role lasted for just one episode in 2000 when she set her eyes on flirting with Ross and when Rachel told the sassy Jill that Ross was off limits, she uttered the iconic line, “Can’t have? Can’t have? The only thing I can’t have is dairy!”

After fans called for a repeat performance, Friends producers contacted Reese to offer her a return but the Oscar winning actress declined the invitation. The reason? She was terrified of filming in front of a live studio audience.

Speaking to AP Entertainment alongside her The Morning Show co-star – the mega Apple TV+ series – the pair were asked about what it’s like to perform live.

As they answered, Reese heaped praise on Jennifer’s live acting skills after a decade filming the hit sitcom in front of a live audience.
Pushing back the praise, Jennifer said, “You are too. You forget it because you blacked out of fear. But she was so good and you were flawless.”

Witherspoon admits she’s “never done it again”, by saying, “Did you know they asked me back and I said, ‘No, I can’t do it.’ I was too scared.”
Taken aback Jennifer says, “How dare you say this! You got scared? What a shame. You would have started to love it!”

Maybe Reese might be persuaded to return for the Friends reunion? FINGERS. CROSSED.
