I AM planning on having a scream this Halloween. When hitting the high street this week,
I have been looking for home decorations that come in under a fiver. That’s perfect if you have been banking your Sun Savers codes for the past 28 days. Here are my tips . . .

TABLE DRESSING: At B&M I found tubs of neon and glow- in-the-dark spider slime reduced from £1 to 50p, which you to pour over plates to create a decorative swampy banquet. Just make sure everyone knows it’s not edible. It also has a value bumper- pack of gory wall decorations for £2.99 that includes 30 cutouts. Three-packs of pop-up paper pumpkins are just £2.
DINING: Homesense has already reduced themed cups, glasses and drinking bottles to around £3. And Poundland has an excellent range, including skull goblets for £1 and bloody handprint tablecloths and platters for £1.
INDOOR: Asda has spider-filled cobweb packs that start at £2. But I am a fan of using cotton wool that has been pulled apart. Head to the beauty aisle for the Little Angels cotton balls for 90p. I also like Asda’s electric pumpkin lanterns for £5. There is no carving needed and they light up at the click of a button. Put them around the room for spooky lighting, with no fire hazard.
OUTDOOR: When you visit Aldi, look out for packs of “keep out” and “warning” tape. You get three types in a £1 pack. Tape across front doors for the best effect. Instead of more expensive outdoor specialist lights, pick up a couple of £1 “projector” torches from Wilko. They are battery-powered so you can put them in flower beds and they can shine ghostly shapes or creepy bats and pumpkins on to fences. It’s much cheaper than buying a projector.
