Avengers Endgame directors have suggested that the upcoming Marvel film will have a ‘different point of view’ to Infinity War.
Infinity War saw our band of heroes attempt to defeat Thanos before he succeeded in collecting the five Infinity stones and received the power to destroy half the universe’s population.
As we all know, that didn’t work and many of our heroes are now deceased and as Endgame opens, those that remain are tasked with figuring out what to do and where to go next.
When asked how Endgame will differentiate from the past Marvel films though, the Russo Brothers said: ‘That’s a tricky one to answer without giving anything away, but I will say that the movie is definitely unique in tone
‘It has its own spirit that’s different than Infinity War, which is why I was keen for us to separate the movies.
‘Of course, we’re handing off narratives and it’s been serialised over 22 movies. But, it’s different tonally than Infinity War and it is told from a different point of view.’
Speaking to Box Office Pro, the brothers added: ‘It was important for us in our minds as film directors to separate those two because we do not want to make the same movie twice, and ways that you can differentiate films are through tone and point of view.’
Marvel’s third phase of its Cinematic Universe is set to conclude when Avengers: Endgame releases next month, with many major characters in jeopardy following the Thanos’ snap.
The two main theorised contenders for dramatic death is Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), with the latest Endgame trailer showing a bleak outlook for the pair.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris also revealed that he has seen the first hour and that he ‘choked up like three times’.
Three times within the first hour? Give us chance to breathe.
Avengers: Endgame is out in the UK on 25 April 2019.
