Avengers Endgame deleted scene proves Thanos is ALIVE – He really could RETURN to MCU

Avengers Endgame had Thanos die twice. The original timeline’s 2018 version had his head chopped off by Thor a few weeks after the Snap. But it was the alternate timeline’s 2014 Thanos who Iron Man snapped dead at the cost of his own life – or did he?

Disney Plus features some new Avengers Endgame deleted scenes and one of these confirms that Thanos is technically still alive.

The scene in question takes place in alternate 2012, when Hulk is trying to convince the Ancient One to lend him the Time Stone.

According to Screen Rant, the clip sees the Sorcerer Supreme reveal that Thanos’ Snap didn’t kill anybody, but merely willed the dusted out of existence.

The outlet writes: “Death is final, the snap is not; resurrection is impossible even with the power of the Infinity Stones, but the snap can be undone.”

Marvel fans have wondered why Black Widow couldn’t have been brought back to life after her sacrifice for the Soul Stone on Vormir

Well, both she and Iron Man died for real, while the dusted could be resurrected because technically they weren’t deceased.

With this in mind, Thanos was snapped so he’s technically still alive as they were.

This means that it’s perfectly possible to restore the Mad Titan back to reality through resurrection.

Presumably, the explanation would be that Cap pops to the future from the 1950s (since he returned to the past to live with Peggy), when he’s in his late 40s, to help in a battle in the late 2020s/early 2030s before returning home.

Similarly, Iron Man could come back if brought forward in time from an alternate timeline before he died.

Such cameos aren’t uncommon in other Sci-fi creations, with Doctor Who seeing former Doctors returning for anniversary specials thanks to time travel.

Last week, Chris Evans refused to rule out a future Captain America return.

He said: “Everything clicks when I get up. Recovery is not the same.

“You never say never. I love the character.

“I don’t know. … It’s not a hard no, but it’s not an eager yes either.

“There are other things that I’m working on right now.”
