Avengers 4 blu ray and DVD release date: When can YOU watch full movie in your own home?

Avengers: Endgame is the definitive film event of 2019, with 10 years of Marvel movies culminating in a decisive conclusion. The film is already the highest-grossing of 2019, and could soon be the highest-grossing of all-time. Its success is rooted both in those who come to see the film for the first time, and those inspired to see it over and over again. Naturally millions of people will want to pick the film up to watch at home, but they may be left waiting for a while.

When is Avengers: Endgame out on DVD?

Avengers: Endgame was released on April 26, meaning the film has been out for less than a month.

Traditionally, films will take six months from film-to-DVD release, and Avengers: Endgame won’t come to a hard disc format until after December 11.

Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed Avengers: Endgame would first come to Disney+ – Disney’s own streaming service – on December 11.

The CEO released a statement after the Walt Disney Company released its second quarter (Q2) earnings this month.

He said: “We’re very pleased with our Q2 results and thrilled with the record-breaking success of Avengers: Endgame, which is now the second-highest grossing film of all time and will stream exclusively on Disney+ starting December 11th.

“The positive response to our direct-to-consumer strategy has been gratifying.

“And the integration of the businesses we acquired from 21st Century Fox only increases our confidence in our ability to leverage decades of iconic storytelling and the powerful creative engines across the entire company to deliver an extraordinary value proposition to consumers.”

Traditionally, the film will release digitally first, and a hard copy release will come two to three weeks later.

Disney will want to keep the film as exclusive content on their new platform for as long as possible in order to encourage new subscribers before a separate release.

This may mean the film stays digital for longer than usual, but Marvel has made no confirmation.

Release dates will be universal for the Disney+ platform but will vary for a DVD release.

Disney likely won’t struggle for subscribers to its Netflix competitor, as it includes all of the company’s best content.

Each and every Disney film, including every entry to the Star Wars franchise, each Marvel film and the full suite of Disney classics will be available to watch on subscription.

The company is also developing its own original shows, including much-anticipated Star Wars spinoff The Mandalorian and several Marvel films such as Loki and Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Disney will also pull its presence off Netflix, meaning there will be no other streaming platforms licensed to run their content.
