Kasper Sindt, Commerical Director at Astralis, spoke on the partnership in a release: “We have followed Esportal for a number of years as it has matured from a startup into a great platform.

“One of Astralis’ main goals is to support the local CS:GO community and in Esportal we believe to have found an amazing partner in that respect. We share the same values and beliefs that the strength in the local community is what makes CS:GO fun and engaging, and we believe that better conditions for the scene ultimately will benefit all.”

According to the press release, the collaboration aims to improve the ‘overall tone of voice in CS:GO.’

The deal includes Astralis main and talent CS:GO teams, who will play on the platform weekly. Financial details and the length of the partnership were not disclosed.

Marcus Huber, CEO of Esportal, stated: “We launched Esportal in Denmark in 2020 with the goal of creating a better environment for CS:GO matchmaking with games in your own language with local queues, local admins, and local activities. Partnering with Astralis, the premier Danish CS:GO team, is a logical next step for us in our goal to create the number one CS:GO destination for Danish players.”

Founded in 2014, Esportal is a Swedish web-based competitive platform focused primarily on CS:GO. The firm has previously partnered with German esports organisation Berlin International Gaming (BIG).

Esports Insider says: The collaboration reflects both parties’ interest in supporting and developing the CS:GO community in Denmark. This was an obvious choice by Esportal, while for Astralis, it’s a new way to strengthen its position in the Danish market.
