Aston Merrygold and fiancée Sarah Lou become parents for the second time as they welcome baby boy

Aston Merrygold and his fiancée Sarah Lou have become parents for the second time.

The JLS star, 32, took to Instagram to announce that they had welcomed a baby boy, called Macaulay Shay, on Friday.

Posting a black-and-white picture of his newborn holding onto his and Sarah’s fingers, he penned: ‘Macaulay Shay Merrygold 12:52pm 5/6/2020.’ His fiancée also shared the same post.

Aston and Sarah welcomed their first child together, son Grayson Jax, two, in January 2018. They revealed in December that they were expecting baby number two. 

Aston and Sarah’s news comes just one week after the couple shared an energetic dance TikTok video outside their home to Doja Cat’s hit Say So.   

Sarah captioned the video: ‘Suns out bump out. 1 week til due date so we celebrate by dancing. 

‘Can’t believe how quick this pregnancy has gone, any day now we get to meet you little one.’

While Aston added: ‘Just one more week to go until and my baby really dancing like this at 39weeks. I think this could be the last one @sarahlourichards.’ 

Earlier this month, Aston ensured his fiancée got the baby shower she deserved as they prepared for the birth of their second child.  

Despite ongoing restrictions, the singer went out of his way to give Sarah a surprise by filling their living room with balloons and inviting close friends and family members to attend via video-link from their respective homes.  

Taking to Instagram later that night, the performer admitted he was determined to give his fiancée an adequate celebration regardless of the ongoing health crisis.

Addressing Sarah while sharing a series of images from the baby shower, he wrote: ‘You deserve the world. So last night we tried our best to give you a baby shower in these crazy times!’ 

The couple announced their engagement on Boxing Day 2018, and subsequently admitted their wedding had been delayed due to work commitments. 

Aston and Sarah announced in December they were expecting their second child, one year after his proposal.

The couple performed a choreographed dance routine to Pharrell Williams track Happy, Aston wrote: ‘So we’ve got something to tell you and the only way to do it is… 3 just became 4 (I really am the luckiest man alive!!!!!!!!) love from the Merrygold family.’ 

Speaking to OK!, Sarah admitted her pregnancy is something of an early Christmas present because neither of them had planned to extend their family.

‘It was a very pleasant surprise!’ she said. ‘I felt different for a week, and Aston was away filming. He came back at the end of the week and we took the test and it was a very clear, definite yes.’

She added: ‘I was quite shocked and it took me a minute to get my head around it because I just wasn’t expecting it.’
