The hugely anticipated RPG is coming! Here’s everything we know about it on Sony’s current console!
We’ve seen gameplay reveals, plot details and more from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, but how will the game turn out on PS4?
Here’s everything you need to know.
Release Date
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla PS4 will be released on 17 November, alongside the other versions for Xbox One, PC and Stadia.
There is no release date as of yet for the Xbox Series X and PS5 version, however, this may become clearer closer to Holiday 2020, when both consoles are set to hit shelves.
Have we seen the final product?
First we saw a cinematic, which genuinely wowed us.
Second, we saw a ‘game-reveal’ that was more of a ‘game-engine’ reveal.
And most recently, we’ve had a full 30-minute deep dive into the game, which showed us everything we’d thought there was to see!
However, there was one thing you may have missed.
The gameplay footage was labelled a ‘work in progress’, which implies that what we’re seeing, is not the finished article.
What improvements we could see from now until release date is yet to be seen, especially as the game is only a few months away.
Will we be seeing a better-looking version when released on PS4? We may have to wait until Ubisoft’s next announcement.
PS4 Graphics
The graphics on show in the gameplay footage were reasonably good, especially when you consider the scale of the game and size of the maps.
We expect graphics on PS4 Pro to obviously have the edge over the standard PS4, however, we don’t know yet as to what the final frame-rate and resolution will be just yet.

We could see 4K at 30 fps, which would actually look very indeed. If it were to push for 60 fps, we may see the game running at 1080p – which again, still looks great.
Will it be playable on PS5?
Well, yes…in some ways.
Ubisoft have confirmed that if you buy the game on PS4, you’ll get the PS5 version at no additional cost.
So, much like Xbox’s smart delivery, you just need to purchase the game once.
Whether or not you’ll be able to play the PS4 Assassin’s Creed Valhalla disc on the PS5, is still not known at this point.
