Ashley Young sings ‘don’t worry about a thing’ during Manchester United horror show

Ashley Young appeared to be having the time of his life hanging out with his new Inter Milan team-mates while Manchester United were producing arguably their worst performance of the season at home to Burnley on Wednesday evening.

The 34-year-old full-back completed a £1.3million switch from United to Inter earlier this week and put pen to paper on a six-month contract at the San Siro.

After falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford, Young was keen to test himself abroad and he jumped at the opportunity once Inter’s interest became known.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had intended to keep hold of Young for at least another season and the versatile defender turned down a one-year extension with the Red Devils.

The move brought an end to Young’s eight-and-a-half-year stay with the Premier League giants.

Inter head coach Antonio Conte has been an admirer of Young for some time and even attempted to sign him two years ago when he was in charge of Chelsea.

Young was clearly delighted that Inter managed to get a deal over the line this winter and spent last night bonding with his new team-mates in Milan.

And as is tradition, Young was made to perform an initiation song and ex-United striker Romelu Lukaku immediately posted it on his Instagram for all 5.6 million of his followers to see.

Unfortunate timing that Young’s rendition of Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds was shared during United’s 2-0 defeat at home to Burnley…

After confirmation of his move to Inter had broken, Young promised to join United fans in the away end at Old Trafford in the near future.

‘To Manchester United, you gave me the chance to play with legends, to win trophies, to work under the greatest manager in history and to be your captain,’ he said.

‘Thank you for letting me be part of your story for eight and a half years.

‘To the United fans, every time I walked on the pitch wearing your shirt I gave you my all. Thank you for your support during the highs and the lows.

‘I leave as one of you, see you again in an away end soon.’
