If your kids want to be just like you, you’ll probably see them pretending to vacuum, make the dinner with their toys, or begging for baby dolls to play parent.

Asda’s new toys are perfect for your ‘all grown up’ little ones, helping them simulate the food shop – and making for perfect Christmas presents.

The supermarket is now selling mini trolleys for just £5, which they can roll around and be just like mum or dad.

In the range of Asda-branded items, there’s also a mini supermarket for £12 (originally £30), mini baskets for £4, and mini checkouts for £7.50.

One mum shared her finds on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook, posting photos of her haul with the caption: ‘In my local Asda paid £39.50 for everything.

‘I’ve got 1 year old twins and 3 year old so they will love them and not fight hopefully.’

The sets are perfect for imaginative play, and a bargain compared to similar options on the high street which can be priced into the hundreds.

Other parents on the group shared the sentiments, with one saying: ‘The little trollies are the best thing ever. Brought one for my son in the summer and he’s used it every single day ever since.’

Another added: ‘I need to go tonight to get the shop!’

Some also commented that they’d managed to find the items for even cheaper than full price. One said that the normally £4 trolley had been marked down to £2 in her local store.

It’s worth using the in-store scanners if your branch has them, as they can tell you before you get to the till whether you’ve bagged a saving or not.

With Christmas around the corner – and many toy shops closed as they’re considered non essential – these could be a great option.
