ASAP Mob rapper Chynna Rogers has died at the age of 25, it has been confirmed.

Chynna’s family released a statement on Wednesday announcing the model’s tragic passing and said: ‘Chynna was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.’

A cause of death was not revealed.

R&B singer Kehlani was among those to pay tribute to Chynna and suggested she had spoken to the rapper earlier that day, tweeting: ‘Chynna you were f**kin hilarious bro… today was our last exchange of jokes & those i will miss the most. I can’t believe it idk how to. i love you. so very much. my heart is officially iced [sic].’

The musician, affectionately known as Chizzy, first began her career as a model at the tender age of 14 after signing to Ford Models.

She then started working with late producer ASAP Yams, who died in 2015.

Chynna was best known for the songs Selfie and Glen Coco. Her first EP I’m Not Here. This Isn’t Happening was released in 2015 while music 2 die 2 arrived the following year.

The model had battled drug addiction in her earlier years but suffered more tragedy when her mother died a year after she completed rehab.

The rapper told Pitchfork in 2018: ‘My mum would be really tight with me if I used her as an excuse to fall off.

‘It’s just more reason to work and get this s**t done.

‘Two or three years ago, I felt that I hadn’t gone through enough terrible stuff to deserve to have this as a career. I didn’t feel like I deserved to be making a living off talking about my life yet because I just couldn’t relate to enough people.’

She continued: ‘It wasn’t just the drug-addict thing, but also all the behaviors that come with it, all the situations you end up in, and the people you end up around just living that life.

‘Now I feel like I’ve been through enough s**t. Now I feel like I can actually talk to y’all about something.’

One of Chynna’s friends, Gianni Lee, posted a lengthy tribute to the rapper in an Instagram post which said: ‘Chynna. I remember when we was some young bucks. Sitting on my mum’s porch eating chicken wings, greasy hands….. and we talked about all the things we wanted to do. Remember how it f****d us up years later? You are an artist. I always looked up to how you played with words.

‘You were gifted with the pen, you were a real writer. You proved that to everybody in the game. You had me looking into Edgar Allen Poe and Alfred Hitchcock. I remember we were in the Lower East Side and you were irked you had to play look out for me so I could paint…..So I took these photos of you. I never got to send them to you. I love you man…. you are a legend and I kno you are happy now [sic].’
