Arya slayed GOT’s ultimate battle scene, so can we give Maisie Williams the Iron Throne already?

Whoever eventually wins the iron throne, GLAMOUR’s cover star, Maisie Williams AKA Arya, WON Game of Thrones in the final series’ latest episode, the aptly titled The Long Night.

Last night’s Battle for Winterfell against the White Walkers showed just how far Arya has come after being faced with huge challenges and obstacles from homeless teen to full-on warrior queen equipped with a brand-new dragon spear. Girl got an upgrade!

With her new weaponry in hand, Arya gets her badass battle on and even takes down the Night King. That’s right: Arya did what an army of dragons and John Snow couldn’t, she took DOWN the ringleader of the White Walkers whilst protecting her brother, Bran.

Speaking to EW, Maisie Williams couldn’t hide her excitement over the ultimate battle scene. “It was so unbelievably exciting… But I immediately thought that everybody would hate it; that Arya doesn’t deserve it. The hardest thing is in any series is when you build up a villain that’s so impossible to defeat and then you defeat them.”

“It has to be intelligently done because otherwise people are like, ‘Well, [the villain] couldn’t have been that bad when some 100-pound girl comes in and stabs him.’ You gotta make it cool. And then I told my boyfriend and he was like, ‘Mmm, should be Jon though really, shouldn’t it?'”

Well, we couldn’t think of a better person to bring down the White Walkers and neither could Sarah Paulson, who after attending a screening of the episode, took to Instagram to say: “I wish you had been there as the entire audience roared with an applause the likes of which I’ve never heard.” Yasss Queen.
