Arsene Wenger admits Arsenal now face a difficult task of finishing in the Premier League top four after Manchester United and Chelsea drew at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Tottenham remain in third despite being beaten by West Ham on Saturday as all of their top-four rivals failed to capitalise once again.

Arsenal suffered their third Premier League defeat in a row as they lost 3-0 at Leicester City, while United and Chelsea drew 1-1.

Maurizio Sarri’s side currently sit fourth in the table on 68 points with Arsenal in fifth on 66 points and United sixth on 65 points.

And Wenger believes his former side now have a mountain to climb with just two Premier League games remaining.

‘It’s bad for us [Arsenal] because we’ve now lost three games,’ Wenger told beIN Sports.

‘Let’s hope we can come back before the Man United game but the Chelsea result was not great for us.

‘Tottenham had their fate in their hands, if they won this game [against West Ham] they would be secure.

‘I think especially because they played the Champions League semi-final at home was a huge advantage, to be capable of resting players between the two Champions League games, and now they cannot afford that.

‘It was a surprising defeat.’
