ARSENAL 0-2 MANCHESTER CITY

24: Ouch! Kyle Walker inadvertently steps on Gabriel Martinelli’s hand over on the touchline. Didn’t look intentional. Arsenal continue to switch the ball from left to right trying to find space but there’s very little penetration to cause City problems. It’s pretty slow too.

21: Kevin De Bruyne tackles Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the corner flag and 60 seconds later he’s leading an attack deep in Arsenal territory. The guy is simply a machine.

18: Manchester City were like a hot knife through butter there. Phil Foden and Fernandinho running the midfield to create the opportunity and Arsenal really don’t look to have an answer. It feels like if Pep Guardiola’s side want a third – they’ll get it.

ARSENAL 0-1 MANCHESTER CITY | DE BRUYNE

2: GOAL! Oh behave… that was a thing of absolute beauty from Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne.

I’ll never get bored of watching this. Gabriel Jesus hooks the ball at speed into the Belgian international, who doesn’t break stride to half-volley an emphatic finish off the underside of the bar. Bernd Leno didn’t stand a chance.

1: Close! It’s taken Gabriel Martinelli just 36 seconds to test Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson. The Brazilian weaves his way through on goal and sees his compatriot rush off his line to block.

Team News

Phil Foden was handed his first Premier League start of the season as Pep Guardiola made five changes for Manchester City’s trip to Arsenal.

After Foden scored in a comfortable 4-1 win at Dinamo Zagreb, he was kept in the team and handed a rare chance to shine in the league.

Ederson returned in goal while Raheem Sterling, Fernandinho, Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker were all recalled.

Arsenal’s interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg was able to call on the services of club-record signing Nicolas Pepe, who missed the Europa League draw in Standard Liege on Thursday with a bruised knee.

Ljungberg shuffled his pack in Belgium but reverted to nine of the players who started Monday’s win at West Ham, with Sead Kolasinac and Matteo Guendouzi in for injured pair Kieran Tierney and Granit Xhaka.
