Arsenal team news: Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac return to training and are ready to face Burnley

Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac have returned to training with Arsenal after “further security incidents” ruled the pair out of last weekend’s win against Newcastle.

The players were attacked by armed car-jackers last month, with Kolasinac confronting the knifemen as they approached Ozil’s car. Both players emerged from the incident unhurt.

However, it was revealed that the police were investigating further incidents last week after two men were arrested outside Ozil’s home.

Kolasinac’s wife returned to Germany after the incident while Ozil has been accompanied by minders.

However, manager Unai Emery confirmed today that the pair are back in training and are “100% per cent” ready to feature against Burnley tomorrow.

“They came back to train with us on Tuesday,” Emery said. “Their mentality is focused on us, for training and the match.

“My focus is to be positive and think the players are 100 per cent with their mind here. I want to help them be normal with us, training, thinking and above all taking the focus for each match.

“They are both good options, I will take the decision if they can be with us on Saturday, we will wait for tomorrow.

“I am pleased they are back, of course. For us, for me first they are a person, then a player. We continued in our way with all the players. When they are training consistently, it is good news for us because they can help us. It is positive that they are with us now.”
