There is reportedly fierce competition to sign William Saliba and the young Arsenal defender is considering a wide range of options.

Saliba has yet to make an appearance for the Arsenal first team, despite arriving in English football with a big reputation.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted it’s likely the 19-year-old will leave on loan in this transfer window as he looks to continue his development.

And according to French publication L’Equipe, there is no shortage of interest in him.

Nice, midtable in Ligue 1, are touted as a possible destination but securing his signature won’t be straightforward.

Clubs in France, Germany, England and the Netherlands have all registered an interest in signing him.

And he is open to all options on the table as he considers his next step.

It’s thought that Arteta’s preference is for him to go on loan to a club in England.

He wants the defender to become acclimatised to the pace of the Premier League and thinks an English loan would benefit his development.

Earlier this month, technical director Edu called for patience for his development.

‘Maybe he needs a little more time,’ Edu said at an Arsenal fans’ forum.

‘He’s a bright talent. We need to talk with him and Mikel to plan for next year.’
