Xhaka’s home visit

Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka was visited by three senior players at his home after the club’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Xhaka’s withdrawal was initially greeted by large cheers, which soon turned to jeers as he took his time to leave the pitch despite the score being level.

He reacted by waving his arms, cupping his ears and seemingly mouth “f*** off” twice as he pushed away a handshake from Emery, took off his shirt and headed straight down the tunnel.

And The Athletic say that Xhaka was so devastated three senior Arsenal players visited him at his home.

Unai Emery sack decision

Arsenal will NOT sack Unai Emery after Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.

The Gunners enjoyed a positive transfer window bringing in the likes of Nicolas Pepe, Kieran Tierney and Dani Ceballos.

But their turbulent start to the campaign has led to calls from supporters to replace Emery as manager.

However, The Athletic say that won’t be the case with Arsenal instead ready to give Emery time to turn the situation around.

The Spanish tactician is likely to be given until the end of the season to get Arsenal fully firing.

Laca likes

Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette has liked an Instagram post calling for the head of manager Unai Emery.

The Gunners’ difficult Premier League campaign went from bad to worse on Sunday as they threw away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.

Among those unhappy with Emery is AFTV regular Troopz, who took to Instagram to vent his frustration after another below-part performance from his team.

The Arsenal fan said: “Im sorry, I’m done with this now. You can’t be 2-0 up at home to palace and draw. Emery I’ve backed you but, bro, enough is enough. Xhaka can f**k himself as well. Never wanna see him in an arsenal top again!”

Despite the strong words, and clear anger, Arsenal hitman Alexandre Lacazette has liked the post on social media.

I had to – Guendouzi

Matteo Guendouzi insists sorry for his rugby-style challenge on Wilfried Zaha yesterday.

The winger was flying forward on the counter-attack in the closing stages of Sunday’s 2-2 Premier League draw only to be taken out, almost spear-like, by Gunners midfielder Guendouzi.

Quizzed about the challenge, Guendouzi told the club’s official website: “I had to foul Zaha at the end, otherwise he is through on goal on his own.

“I’m the last defender but I’m far from our goal as well. I had to do it.”

Fabian Ruiz offer

Real Madrid are preparing a player-plus-cash bid for Napoli star Fabian Ruiz.

Ruiz, 23, is being tracked by several European heavyweights having impressed since his £25million move from Real Betis in 2018.

The midfielder made his Spain debut against the Faroe Islands in June and has featured in four Euro 2020 qualifiers since.

Now, newspaper AS claim Real Madrid are willing to offer frequent Arsenal target Isco and £17million in cash to bring Ruiz back to Spain.
