Ian Wright cannot believe the ‘level of disrespect’ shown by Laurent Koscielny as he announced his move from Arsenal to Bordeaux.

The Frenchman completed his £4.6m move to Bordeaux on Tuesday and his new club unveiled their signing with a short promotional video.

However, it has not gone down well with Arsenal fans as it shows Koscielny wearing a Gunners shirt, before taking it off to reveal his new Bordeaux kit underneath

Wright was fuming over the video and took to Twitter, writing: ‘This hurts. The level of disrespect. You should be ashamed for the way you’ve left the club after 9 years! Got what you wanted and still trying to have a dig. Hope it’s worth it in the long run.’

Wright added in another tweet: ‘So unnecessary. 9 years and you do this…makes no sense.’

The 33-year-old had been one of Arsenal’s club captains, and wore the armband in their Europa League final defeat to Chelsea in May.

However, relations between him and the club quickly soured after that as he refused to go on the pre-season tour of America in a bid to force a move away from north London.

A tense stand-off ensued with Koscielny wanting the club to let him leave for free, despite having a year left on his contract, but Arsenal held out for the £4.6m they eventually received from Bordeaux.

The centre-back has since taken to Instagram to send a message to Arsenal fans about his decision to leave.

‘As you know i engaged with @girondins. After 9 years spent at Arsenal, I took the decision to leave,’ wrote Koscielny.

‘I have spent wonderful years with this club, nine years during which I learned, evolved, grew up.

‘This experience made me the player I am today. My decision to leave has been discussed for months with my club, my teammates, my coach, and it has been a well thought decision.

‘I see this departure like a new turning point in my life as a player but also in in my life as a man and a family man.

‘However I hope you understand, and in any case I cannot be thankful enough for these years past at Arsenal.

‘I am aware of everything that the club and you supporters have brought to me. But it is time for me to go home so today my will is to join the @girondins.

‘This is a new challenge that I count on taking with determination.’
